Why write a blog?

well...people have been telling me for a while that I should have one...first was 5 years ago, as I was rather a culture-vulture on the independent London cultural scene. And my friend Wessel wanted to be part of it..and thought many others would too..A kind of underground artsy Time Out for London- what's hot, where to be seen tonight, where I would be seen, with who....? But I didn't do it....

Then my ex- was asking me to write while I was living in Spain and producing the world's best and biggest digital art exhibition...so he could know what was going down with me...

But I still didn't do it...

Now I am doing it!!!

Well done to me! I am proud of myself!!

So what happened today- Aug 7th 2007 that made me finally write a blog post??

Well.....basically I've got me some time! I have left my job!! I am researching MBAs...I am planning my next moves..I am highly motivated to do great things!! I feel very lucky to be in this position.

And I am at my parents enjoying the very strange globally-warmed summer in London...we just had a little downpour and I rushed in from the garden and found myself creating my first post! So welcome whoever is out there reading this..i wonder how you found me..

I guess I've been reading more blogs lately and loving them...they are the best way to get opinions, free customer reviews on anything out there, though I am always worried they are a PR person in disguise. Is that just my cynicism of the markets? But of course some will be..and if I was a PR person I would do just that (as well as have a highly sexy avatar in Second Life of course). BTW I DO have a sexy avatar on Second Life - Stunning Pink Lady is her name, but I am not a PR person!

I used to think blogging was an odd thing to do, as I saw it as a diary, and why would you want everyone to read your diary...?

A friend of mine "came out" as bisexual on his blog and his Mum read it and went a little crazy!! So you must be careful who you send your URL to. Luckily my Mum hasn't wandered into the virtual world yet (well this one anyway!) and so till then I am quite safe!!

My friend Hira has had her blog for a while. But those Americans, what they really really want is a book deal, and are hoping the blog will be their PR agent..and in America and in the UK it has happened! So that's great...and she's not really American yet, though it's just a matter of time...
